Prior to forming Miasto, Ashley was the Vice President at placemaking and park management firm, Biederman Redevelopment Ventures (BRV), and an urban designer at firms SWA Group and Hart Howerton. Ashley was also a researcher of design firm culture and leadership while at the GSD (Graduate School of Design) at Harvard University.

  • Salesforce Park, San Francisco, CA

    From 2017-2024, Ashley led BRV’s team as the managing entity for Salesforce Park, which sits above the regional transit facility. Ashley and her team were responsible for managing a myriad of public and private events, overseeing horticulture maintenance and park upkeep, leading park marketing and communications, fulfilling brand partnerships, and overseeing park operations budgets.

  • Fair Park, Dallas, TX

    From 2019-2024, in her role at BRV, Ashley was a key member of the management team for Fair Park, a 277-acre park and cultural complex in Dallas. Ashley led the park’s 2020 Master Plan Update, helped spearhead the development of a new community park within Fair Park, and oversaw BRV's implementation of regular free neighborhood programming in Fair Park.   • Downtown Placemaking, Seattle, WA

    In 2023, Ashley led BRV’s team in working with the Downtown Seattle Association and the City of Seattle in support of the mayor’s Downtown Activation Plan, helping to address challenges at its urban core. Ashley’s team prepared placemaking, governance, and public realm maintenance assessments for five public spaces in downtown Seattle to increase activity, safety, and livability in the area.

  • Washington Park Arboretum, Seattle, WA

    In 2023, while at BRV, Ashley teamed up with Seva Workshop to better understand the community and stakeholder’s desires for the future of the 230-acre Arboretum, the Seattle Japanese Garden, and a 28-acre parcel that will be added at the north end of the Arboretum. The project resulted in a comprehensive report that detailed the findings, case studies, and strategic recommendations. (image credit: Seva Workshop)

  • Mission Rock, San Francisco, CA

    From 2017-2020, while at BRV, Ashley worked with the San Francisco Giants and Tishman Speyer on the visioning, programming, and operations of the public spaces within the 28-ac Mission Rock redevelopment. Ashley and her team helped the client group secure their development agreement with the Port of SF, crafted the placemaking and public realm management guidelines, and detailed the public realm activation and operations plans.

  • City Creek Center, Salt Lake City, UT

    While at SWA, Ashley was a key member of the design team for City Creek Center, a redevelopment of two city blocks in Salt Lake City's urban core. The center infuses life back into the downtown and sets a new benchmark for integrating retail into downtown city blocks. The project's public realm fuses regional ecology and pedestrian experiences to create a vital urban gathering space.
